BACKGROUND



Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural state with Kathmandu as its capital city. Nepal has seven Provinces and WAHF headquarters lies in Biratnagar, capital city of Province no 1.
WAHF was founded by Ms. Rita Kumari Panta together with other eight members in 2010 with the vision of developing society, improving communities and promoting citizen participation. It works for the cause and care of disadvantaged people to improve their quality of life and envisions a society where all people have right to active, healthy and dignified life.


BIOGRAPHY OF THE PRESIDENT


Ms. Rita Kumari Panta


Rita Kumari Panta was born in to a middle class family in Sattarijhora village of Sunsari district in eastern Nepal. She found seeds of service early in her childhood from her family, who believed in equality. With widespread prevalent caste discrimination, untouchability and gender inequality she always thought of society free of such social problems.


She received her education at Shree Janta Secondary School in hometown and did high school at Mahendra Morang Adarsa Multiple Campus in Biratnagar. Due to her personal encounter with life's unfortunate circumstances, her desire to pursue further college education took a backseat by financial crisis in the family.


After years of hardship and struggle as a teacher in secondary level and knowing importance of education and striving for the change her dream of opening a non-profit organization finally came true with support from community, family and friends. Now she finds content in helping the needy and has become voice of underprivileged and beacon of hope for marginalized group.


OBJECTIVES


1.Teaching virtues and morals which promote empathy, compassion, kindness and social knowledge about human rights which can shape a good character and a pleasant personality

2. Boost self-confidence and encourage to stay positive even in difficult situations and provide a perspective that shapes attitudes and beliefs towards various aspects of life which allows to channel their energies in the right direction.

3. To work for the most marginalized women with the aim to empower them socially and economically, promote inclusion in every structure and process, and enhance their access to every facility and right

4. The organization believes that the Female Development is the key for sustainable development thus it has been involved in preparation of various kinds of projects in the fields of education, health awareness and capacity building of women.

5. Since its establishment it has been working for for the protection of human rights ,advocacy and generating awareness at the community level through training, workshop and interaction program

6. As the constitution of Nepal has rightly guaranteed fundamental human right the implementation part could not be brought down up to the community level so it helps to aware people on their rights expecting that all the people of Nepal could be able to be in the state of enjoying good governance and basic rights.

7. Promote active participation of people in environment protection and environment management.
